Julie Riley: Becoming a Self-Sustained Artist

Join the DSA for a workshop by Julie Riley about how she became a self-sustained artist. She switched careers from the software industry and began to pursue painting full-time in early 2018 and was completely sustained by her art sales by 2019. Hear how she broke into the art market, how she organizes her time, and other tips and tricks to becoming a successful artist in the Dayton market.

Julie Riley:

Julie Riley is a full-time contemporary artist whose art studio is based in beautiful downtown Dayton, Ohio. Her work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions and her pieces are included in private and public collections nationally and internationally. She has won several awards and has been represented by art galleries throughout the Midwest.

Julie holds the position of Vice President on the Executive Board of the Dayton Society of Artists. Additionally, she serves as a Member at Large on the Board of Dayton Artists United and is a Member at Large on the Board of Friends of the Dayton Living Arts Center. She is also an Appointed Observer of Dayton’s Visual Arts.
