BETZ, Frank "Fred", age 100, of Kettering, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015. Fred was born on August 19, 1914 in Dayton, OH to the late Frank and Forest (Whitacre) Betz. Fred lived his entire life in Dayton and served his country in the Army during WWII in the Philippines. He worked as a businessman for 30 years. Upon his retirement at the age of 65, he pursued his lifelong love of art, by teaching for Sinclair Community College. He retired (again) at the age of 99. He is preceded in death by his dear wife, Winifred; 2 brothers, Robert and David Betz. Fred is survived by his sister-in-law, Audrey; 3 generations of nieces and nephews and many friends and students who loved and enjoyed his expertise, encouragement and charm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dayton Society of Painters and Sculptors (DSPS). Fred taught us how to live life fully and love people. Dayton provided him with wonderful inspiration for his paintings: the places, the people and the Dayton Ballet. The family would like to thank the staff at Sterling House Washington Twp. and Hospice of Miami Valley for all the wonderful care they gave to Fred. A visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, May 1, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial at David's Cemetery
