Luminous Flow: Time Made Visible

The Dayton Society of Artists is pleased to present Luminous Flow: Time Made Visible, a juried photography exhibition presented as part of the 2026 FotoFocus Biennial: The Long View.
Luminous Flow: Time Made Visible explores long exposure photography as a method of revealing motion, duration, and transformation in the world around us. Through the process of shutter drag, photographers turn water into silk, clouds into spun cotton, and traveling light into flowing patterns of movement and memory.
Rather than capturing a single frozen instant, the works in this exhibition use photography to reveal the passage of time. Bringing together a range of photographic approaches, Luminous Flow presents photography as both a dynamic visual record and an artistic interpretation of movement, change, and duration.
The exhibition was juried by Gregory Changa, a Dayton-based digital fine art photographer and writer whose work focuses on visual storytelling, weaving together written narratives and photography. Changa has exhibited in local and regional museums and galleries, including the FotoFocus Biennial: Backstories (2024), Edward A. Dixon Gallery, Springboro Performing Arts Center, and the Dayton Art Institute. He currently serves on the Boards of Trustees of the Montgomery County Arts and Culture District and the Dayton Art Institute.

Luminous Flow: Time Made Visible is on view October 2 through October 30, 2026, at the Dayton Society of Artists' High Street Gallery. The exhibition opens with a public reception on Friday, October 2, from 6:00–8:00 PM. Admission is free and open to the public.
