Join local historian Kathleen Caffrey for an engaging presentation exploring the history and lasting legacy of the School of the Dayton Art Institute. Once a cornerstone of arts education in the Miami Valley, the school shaped generations of artists before closing in 1975. Through photographs, stories, and historical insights, Caffrey will examine the school's origins, its influence on the region's artistic community, and the many accomplished alumni who continue to impact the arts today.
This program is presented in conjunction with the DAI Alumni Show, on view at the Dayton Society of Artists August 14–September 5, 2026. Visitors are encouraged to explore the exhibition before or after the talk and celebrate the enduring legacy of the School of the Dayton Art Institute through the work of its alumni.
