Introducing...Ginny Baughman and Chalk Murals
Saturday, September 12 2:00pm (rain date: Sunday September 13th, 2pm) Join the DSA for a chalk mural workshop! Before the event day, you'll virtually meet artist, Ginny Baughman and learn about chalk murals in a pre-recorded video. Then on September 12 come out to the DSA's High Street Gallery and create one of your own outside and socially distant in St. Anne's Hill! Each participant will have a 3'x3' section marked for them to work along with a Chalk Art Kit included in registration. Ginny will be creating her own work during that time! Registration is for 18+.
Registrants may bring ONE additional household member, but social distancing is mandatory, so all participants MUST remain near their designated workspace and never closer than 6 feet from any other registrant group.
Registration is limited. Registration is only $5 thanks to an MCACD Special Projects Grant! (If the $5 is cost prohibitive, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 937-228-4532 for free registration!)

Ginny Baughman is a visual artist who has lived and worked in Ohio her entire life. She obtained a BFA from the University of Dayton and an MA in Art Education from Ohio State University. After college Ginny moved to central Ohio and gained notoriety as an artist there with her traditional architectural portraits and landscapes of the area. About 10 years ago she moved into contemporary multidimensional artwork which has been featured in many shows throughout Ohio and the US. Ginny continues to work in both traditional and contemporary styles and she had participated in a wide variety of exhibitions. She has also been working as a teaching artist over the past 20 years and is continually reenergized as an artist through teaching her students. As a content based artist, Ginny works in a variety of media including drawing, painting, cut paper, fiber, sculpture, installation and sidewalk chalk. After 30 years in central Ohio, Ginny has recently moved back home to the Dayton area and is excited to get involved in the arts scene there.
In the past 4 years Ginny has created over 20 different chalk art designs in a variety of different venues in addition to her own driveway. Visit her chalk art blog at the following address to see all of her designs: http://ginnyschalkart.blogspot.com/ and scroll back through her many designs.
The purpose of the workshop series, Introducing..., is to acquaint DSA members and the community to different mediums and methods in the visual arts. In conjunction, the attendees will get to know the instructing artist, their background, and tips and tricks of their trade.
