Sophia Hoersten Fading Light, 36 x 48 in. Oil on Canvas NFS -- My collection considers the psychological complexities confronted by many women as they navigate early adulthood. I represent these notions in oil paint on canvas to create atmospheres charged with subliminal moods and energies. My viewers are invited to engage intimately with the work as I use self-portraiture to depict my own organic form within familiar domestic settings—revealing raw vulnerabilities and uncertainties in the face of womanhood’s identity-forming years.
